Avandia, manufactured by Glaxo SmithKline, is a drug used to treat patients who have Type-II diabetes. This disease is also referred to as adult onset diabetes. Avandia is in that class of medications known as thiazolidonediones, which have been linked to liver and cardiovascular problems, such as congestive heart failure.

In May of 2007, an article in the New England Journal of Medicine analyzed the link between Avandia use and increased risk of heart attacks. The study found patients taking Avandia were at a 43% higher risk of heart attack or other cardiovascular complications. Other scientists have also raised issues about Avandia, including whether more tests should have been done to assess the drug’s safety before it was offered to patients. Injuries associated with the use of Avandia can include:

  • Congestive Heart Failure
  • Heart Attack
  • Ischemic or Hemorrhagic Stroke
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
  • Increased Incidences of Fractured Bones in Females

Losing my dad was the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with in my life, especially the way I lost him, but I called Adam and Suthers and they made everything I was going through a little easier. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart. If you need someone to trust and make sure that someone is held accountable then Suthers law firm is absolutely were you go. John Suthers and Adam Harper thank you. Damien Foster

John was referred to me by my Father and Step-Mother after I was injured in a car accident. He had helped them a few years before and they insisted I call John, even though I don't live in Savannah. (I do live in Georgia)

I am so glad they gave me this advice! I have permanent injuries and John and Adam were able to navigate the insurance red tape while I was able to heal. They did a fantastic job, much, much better than I could have done myself.

They always called me when something was going on. They took care of everything.

If you are in an accident, take my advice and call John Suthers before you deal with the insurance company!
