Serzone

The Suthers Law Firm is investigating potential claims involving Serzone (also known as nefazodone), an anti-depressant drug manufactured and sold by Bristol-Meyers Squibb Company. Serzone has been blamed for numerous of cases of liver toxicity resulting in liver failure, death or the need for a liver transplant. On May 19, 2004, Bristol-Meyers pulled the drug from U.S. markets.

Serzone has been associated with an increased risk for liver damage and/or liver failure. As a result, anyone with liver disease or a history of liver disease should not be prescribed Serzone. Symptoms of liver failure include jaundice (yellowing of the skin or the whites of the eyes), dark urine, nausea, loss of appetite for several days or longer, and stomach pain. Patients who experience these symptoms should report them to their doctors immediately. If these symptoms persist, liver failure may occur, resulting in the need for a liver transplant.
